James H Fairgrieve (1944-today)

James Fairgrieve (b. 1944) was born in Prestonpans in East Lothian and he studied at Edinburgh College of Art from 1962 to 1968. After spending some time in London he returned to Scotland and joined the staff of Edinburgh College of Art. He lives in Gordon in Berwickshire and his landscape paintings are based on the remote countryside and the open hills close to his home.
