  20 - 24 July 2009
  Summer School 2009 will focus on support to staff from colleges and their partner organisations engaged in activity that promotes achievement through learning with young people.
  
  
• Le Français en Ecosse - French Immersion Courses, Secondary
  25 July 2009 - 14 August 2009
  These are the annual French immersion courses in Dordogne and Lyon for Secondary school teachers, supported by The European Union COMENIUS Programme.
  
  
• National Primary Languages in Practice Conference
  15 September 2009
  This one-day conference will offer the opportunity to share examples of work in primary schools during the trialling period, and also to observe innovative practice which has been identified in schools throughout Scotland.

  The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) has developed what is called the SQA Academy to extend and enhance the training and development opportunities available to all those who contribute to the assessment processes that underpin the qualifications of the SQA.

• Scottish Association for Language Teaching (SALT) Conference 2009

  This year's SALT conference will focus on a Curriculum for Excellence. Contributions will focus on practice rather than theory as speakers outline their experience in tackling materials and projects which exemplify the new syllabus.
