This document is HMIE’s Draft Gaelic Language Plan, prepared within the framework of the Gaelic Language (Scotland) Act 2005. It sets out how it will use Gaelic in carrying out its business, how it will enable the use of Gaelic when it interacts with stakeholders and partners, and how it will promote the development of Gaelic. It recognises that the development of Gaelic Language Plans by public bodies such as HMIE is a key component of the 2005 Act. It recognises that its Gaelic Language Plan will help to formalise and communicate to staff, partners and stakeholders what its policy is in relation to Gaelic matters, and what Gaelic services they can expect to access through HMIE.

Scotland’s Colleges Next Practice and Innovation Conference and Annual Awards 2009 are taking place on Tuesday 24 November 2009 at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow. The Minister for Schools and Skills, Keith Brown MSP, will address this year's conference and there will be a facilitated discussion with a high level, international panel.
