Basic Calculator Skills
The calculator will not make a mistake if you give it the correct
instructions. Look at this example:
Example 2.2a
Add together £5.32 and 89p.
Solution:
If you key in 5.32 [+] 89 [=] you will get the answer 94.32 which
is wrong, of course.
Enter the numbers in pounds or pence either 5.32 + 0.89 = 6.21 this
representing £6.21 or 532 + 89 = 621 this representing 621p
which you then translate into pounds.
