Measure of central location: the mode This is a very grandiose title for a very simple idea. If you could represent a whole set of numbers by just one, what would it be? Since its difficult to talk hypothetically, it will help if we have some actual numbers to play with. Suppose I stand outside the gates of a factory and ask the first 15 people who come out what they earned for their days work.
