Religious, Moral And Philosophical Studies - one new resource:

• RMPS: Morality in the Modern World for Higher
  These six lessons include an introduction to morality, Divine Command theory, the Euthyphro dilemma, Kantian ethics and utilitarian ethics. A final lesson explores the relationship between Kantian and utilitarian ethics and the application of these to modern moral issues.

Drama - one new resource:

• Drama Skills: Support Materials for Access 3
  This resource will support learners to make their own movie or DVD. They will be given the opportunity and responsibility for writing, directing and filming some part of the drama including downloading and editing.

Home Economics:

A DVD resource for Access 1 demonstrating successful approaches used in three centres with students who have complex needs. The DVD contains student profiles and video clips, obtainable from LTS at a cost of £6.50.

Information Systems:

Glossary of Terms for Higher
This resource gives clarity to definitions currently used within the content of the two mandatory units – Using Information and Relational Database Systems. It also lends itself to active or collaborative learning whilst being a useful aid to learners preparing for forthcoming assessments.

Using a Computer in Business for Access 3
This comprehensive resource introduces learners to word documents, spreadsheets and databases in order to operate a computer for business use. This resource is presented through PowerPoint presentations with video and audio features directing the learners step-by-step through each application. A teacher’s guide accompanies the resource in addition to a student workbook.

Website of the Month - The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama

NQ Online continues to build upon its collection of useful websites. Every month, one of these new web links is given the accolade of website of the month.

This website provides details of the Academy’s drama programme for children and adults. A range of courses are available for all ages.  It also provides information on Musicworks and the most recent addition to its portfolio, Danceworks.  This would be of particular interest to those teachers involved with Higher Dance – another recent resource added to National Qualifications Online.
