Online consultation for 'Supporting Children's Learning' code of practice

15 October 2009

The Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Acts 2004 & 2009: Consultation on Changes to the Secondary Legislation and Supporting Children's Learning Code of Practice.

The Education (Additional Support for Learning) ( Scotland) Act 2009, which makes certain amendments to the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004, received royal assent on 25 June 2009. The principles of the 2004 Act are not affected. Amendments concentrate on increasing rights to request out of authority placements; access to mediation and dispute resolution and rights to access the Tribunal when local authority failure is claimed. The consultation is on proposed changes to the secondary legislation and the supporting children’s learning code of practice. Looked After children and young people are considered throughout the proposals.

There is a questionnaire available for each section to provide your thoughts on the changes.
