Scotland’s Colleges Next Practice and Innovation Conference and Annual Awards 2009

Scotland’s Colleges Next Practice and Innovation Conference and Annual Awards 2009 are taking place on Tuesday 24 November 2009 at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow.  

The Minister for Schools and Skills, Keith Brown MSP, will address this year's conference and there will be a facilitated discussion with a high level, international panel.  Panel members include:

• Dr. Scott Ralls, President, North Carolina Community College System

• Leslie Evans, Director General Education, Scottish Government

• Trevor Carson, Director, LSDA NI

• John Burt OBE, Principal, Angus College

• Linda McKay MBE, Principal, Forth Valley College.

The day will end with inspirational speaker Dr Sanford C. Shugart, President of Valencia Community College, Florida.

Scotland’s Colleges Annual Awards will follow the conference. Celebrating their tenth year, the awards are open to all of Scotland’s 43 colleges and are a great opportunity to recognise the effort made by colleges to improve the learner experience.
