Limits on class sizes in Scotland

The Scottish Government is to introduce a new law to limit class sizes to 25 in Primary 1 from the start of the next school year. Once the new law has come into effect, the limits per year group will be as follows:

| Primary 1 | 25 |
| Primary 2 and 3 | 30 |
| Primary 4 - 7 | 33 |
| Composite classes | 25 |
| Secondary 1 - 2 | 33 |
| Secondary 1 and 2 Maths and English | 20 |
| Secondary 3 - 6 | 30 |
| Practical classes | 20 |
