The Scottish Government has published the Scottish Qualifications Authority exam results for local authorities for 2007-08.

The statistics, which are produced before appeals are considered, show that overall attainment in Scottish schools in 2007-08 was broadly similar to the levels attained in previous years.

A higher proportion of girls than boys achieved awards at all levels, by the end of all stages. In S5 and S6, this is partly due to higher staying-on rates for girls.
