First Minister opens Donaldson’s new school

17 September 2008

The First Minister, Alex Salmond, officially opened the new purpose-built Donaldson's School in Linlithgow on Wednesday 17 September.

The national school caters for residential and day pupils, from nursery through to secondary, who are deaf or have significant speech and language difficulties.

Donaldson's School is one of seven grant-aided special schools in Scotland. The new building was financed by the sale of Donaldson's existing building and other fundraising activities.

In 2008-09 Donaldson's will receive £1,965,589 from Scottish Government towards recurrent costs.
