Children in Scotland’s annual conference on 6 November 2008 will look at how those working in the children’s sector can share learning experiences in a way that sets the mood for continued collaboration, getting beyond basic information sharing and moving towards deeper cross-professional understanding and what impact local communities can have on their children’s wellbeing.
Policy and practice relating to children and young people, from the early years to Curriculum for Excellence and beyond, demands increased collaboration between families, professionals and community groups. For many professionals, sharing information and experience has become commonplace, but working together has its unresolved challenges.
Bernard McLeary, Chief Executive of Learning and Teaching Scotland, is one of the guest speakers at this conference. He will be speaking on ‘Cross-curricular connections and new ways of working’.
