National Museums Scotland has launched an exciting new online learning resource Discover Celts and Romans at Birnie. Explore an Iron Age roundhouse, find a hoard of Roman coins and discover what life was like in north-east Scotland 2000 years ago.
At Birnie, archaeologists have uncovered an Iron Age power centre which was in close contact with the Romans. Since 2004, NMS Archaeology and Access and Outreach have worked together to offer schools across Moray the chance to learn more about this amazing site. Local school pupils have visited the dig to see archaeology in action. This interactive resource offers an insight into the excavations, the finds and the work of an archaeologist. You can even build your own roundhouse.
