Educational practitioners across the world are sitting up and taking notice of Scotland’s pioneering Glow programme.
This April, Andrew Brown of the Glow team was invited to speak at the Future Schools conference held in Doukas School in Athens. The event, which is Greece’s answer to the Scottish Learning Festival, showcases best practice from across the world.
Andrew’s presentation introduced Glow as a concept, outlining what it would achieve for education in Scotland and what is involved in its rollout. The audience was especially interested in hearing how Glow tied in with the new curriculum, and Andrew’s presentation emphasised the power of Glow as a tool to support learning and teaching, not a ‘bolt-on’ benefit.
The Greek Education Ministry is the latest in a long line of international organisations to voice an interest in Glow, following in the steps of Hanban (the Office of Chinese Language Council International), the George Lucas Educational Foundation and educationalists from Singapore.
