Responses sought for National Qualifications consultation

26 August 2008

The Scottish Government is currently asking for a wide range of opinions on proposals to change Scotland's National Qualifications, including the views of carers, young people and those who work with young people.

The proposals include introducing new qualifications in literacy and numeracy and allowing more flexibility around when qualifications can be taken.

The consultation, entitled the Next Generation of National Qualifications in Scotland, was launched at the All Bar None conference on 10 June.

The Government is now organising events over the next few months to provide information and gather views. If you would like details of these events, or if you are holding an event and are thinking of including a session on the consultation, please contact the team at qualificationsconsultation@scotland.gsi.gov.uk who will be able to give you help and advice.

You can also respond to the consultation via the response form on the Scottish Government website.

If you have any questions about the consultation, please email qualificationsconsultation@scotland.gsi.gov.uk and the team will be happy to help.

The consultation will run until 31 October 2008.
