Hi, it's Celine here. Here is my video diary for February.
And so, once I was, you know, with a group of six pupils, and one of them, a girl who was aggressive, and I could not understand everything she was saying. She maybe wanted to frighten me, so I simply sent her out of the class and asked her to go back with her teacher. So the teacher agreed and she told me I was right to have done that, but we should know before the lessons, if we have to... if there is a problem, if we have to send them off, or if we can punish them, or what do we have to, if we have to ask the teacher before...
So the two most... the funniest thing we have done this year was about creating something with the pupils, something I could participate and I could create with them. So I first participated with one of the teachers in my school with a contest, a drama contest with the French Institute. So, the point is to play something in French, and they're not very old - it's with the second years, so they are very young and they don't really know a lot about French. But we help them to pronounce French and just to have fun with French. And it's really funny, because they are really good and they really tried their best to speak French and simply to enjoy that, and I think it's good for the Institute to be involved in something in creative work, and to...simply to participate.
And the second thing is that I try to let the Scottish pupils know about my French life. And I used a...a video camera to film them speaking about French life, so we are looking for information on the internet and trying to find about my town, and what there is to do in the town, what the French pupils usually do at school, what they eat - simply to note the differences between the Scottish pupils and French pupils, and it was quite interesting for them because they could find information then try to speak about that in French, and then be recorded. They simply enjoyed that and I was also participating because I was on the... I was filmed too, so they were asking me questions and I was answering, and it was really funny.
