    Scottish CILT will host the UK’s first workshop on the use of the European Language Portfolio. The European Language Portfolio was developed and piloted by the Language Policy Division of the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, from 1998 until 2000. It was launched on a pan-European level during the European Year of Languages and is widely used in Europe with more than 80 accredited versions of the portfolio in existence.

    This one-day conference will offer the opportunity to share examples of work in primary schools during the trialling period, and also to observe innovative practice which has been identified in schools throughout Scotland.

    The European Day of Languages (EDL) is held annually on 26 September to celebrate language and cultural diversity.

  • 19 - 30 October 2009
    Twelve-day course for teachers of Spanish based in Granada. The course programme includes cultural activities, theatre. musical performances and social events. The full programme is attached below. This course fulfils the requirements for the candidates to obtain a grant from the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme and the grants Comenius-2 (lifelong learning for school teachers) and Grundtvig-3 (lifelong learning for adult education).

    This year's SALT conference will focus on a Curriculum for Excellence. Contributions will focus on practice rather than theory as speakers outline their experience in tackling materials and projects which exemplify the new syllabus.
