Scottish CILT’s 2006 National Conference, on Saturday 18 March, was a free day of exciting technology and teaching. 100 of the country’s languages teachers and advisors came to build on their use of technology - whether to make links with partner schools, to inject new forms of creativity into the classroom, or to learn a new skill such as making a blog.

The conference was co-hosted with Learning and Teaching Scotland and Partners in Excellence (PiE), and was made possible with the help of the Scottish Executive Education Department (SEED).

Peter Ford, co-founder of ICT4Schools, set up a Communicate blog which includes reflections from Communicate.06, lots of useful links, and a copy of his presentation.
With six weeks’ intensive online support through the MFLE, teachers will be able to take on board a new project in the knowledge that a community of experts will be there to help out. The three themes of the conference were Communication, Creativity and Display. All the demonstrations, discussions and seminars fitted these themes.
Every one of Scotland’s 32 local authorities was given the chance to nominate individuals to come to this special event. However, even if you didn't attend, you can take part. The MFLE will host an online version of the conference, including seminar presentations, audio, video and examples of classroom practice. Register to become a member of the MFLE and you can gain access to this online support.
