Currently, mobile phones are banned in many schools for being a disruptive technology. They go off in class, kids take photos of each other and sometimes of the teacher, and kids can be seen as ‘off task’ as they text (or should that be 'txt'?) their friends.
However, the power in students’ pockets is not to be underestimated, and one subject where mobiles could make a real difference is modern languages. Mobile phones are indeed powerful computers, with the ability to create, organise, send and receive content. This potential is difficult to ignore.
