Delicatessen

A futuristic, grotesque thriller that will have senior classes squirming and laughing simultaneously, Delicatessen is yet another modern classic from Director Jeunet.

In the near future, poverty reigns. Louison (Pinon) takes on odd-jobs in return for a room in a tenement above a butcher shop. The butcher trades in an unorthodox meat: human flesh. When Louison falls in love with the myopic butcher’s daughter, can the Troglodites, an underground group of vegetarian fanatics, come to his rescue? A superb film for senior students wanting to see a contrasting film from Jeunet’s later production of Amelie. The extras DVD shows all the secrets of the shoot, making it ideal as a study for pupils looking to make their own films.
