Role of support staff

The role of support staff in the Maximising Potential programme is to work in partnership with modern language teachers, particularly during their work in the first two units of the programme. They will be involved in:

• working through the first two (core) units of the programme with a modern languages partner
• observing the targeted class or group and discussing observations with the class teacher, to share perspectives on classroom dynamics
• working with the modern languages teacher, in and out of class, to devise, deliver and evaluate strategies designed to engage pupils and make progress on their learning

Making this partnership possible will require the support and assistance of school managers.
