Other health initiatives

A number of local authorities now have dedicated nursing staff for looked after children.

The service provided varies across authorities: in some cases provision is for all looked after children, whereas in others it is only for children who are looked after away from home or for care leavers. The type of service offered also varies.

Action 15 of We Can and Must Do Better states that a competency framework will be developed. Work is currently ongoing on this.
