The Implementation Board takes overall responsibility for delivery of the 19 actions and 57 associated tasks identified in the 'We Can and Must Do Better' report, and for ensuring that these are consistent with, and supportive of, policies in related areas.
The Board will remove barriers to progress should these arise, secure buy-in from key partners and ensure that communication both within the Scottish Government and with external partners is effective.
The Implementation Board reports regularly to Scottish Ministers and, where appropriate, makes recommendations on possible ways to further improve outcomes for looked after children and young people.
Eight working groups have been established under the five themes of the report.
The person chairing each working group is also a member of the Implementation Board.
The Implementation Board oversees the effective governance of the work streams by monitoring the working groups' activities.
