Angus project: Listening and Talking

Image of boys in discussion

The project in Angus Council concentrates on listening and talking, and is linked to raising attainment and achievement through groups.

It involves accessing all curricular areas in learning and teaching, with a shared understanding of outcomes. This will be achieved through an audit of talking and listening in groups, for example circle time.

The teachers are identifying key skills needed for quality discussion and actively teaching them. There is an attempt to view these skills in a progressive way through the production of a rubric. Filming will take place at the start and the end of the project.  It is hoped that this will then be used as a CPD resource.

Arbroath High School and its associated primaries are the schools involved in this project.
