Each author discusses how they go about researching their books and the importance of research in writing.
Mary Hooper has written over 20 books for ages 8-18. Mary's novels include the acclaimed Megan series about a young girl who finds herself pregnant and alone at 15. The Megan series won both the Best Teenage Book for 2000 Award and the North East Book Award.
As well as issues-based books, such as the Megan series and 'Zara', a book about the lengths girls will go to to be part of the in-crowd, Mary has also written ghost stories. However, Mary's new focus has been historical novels. Her first two historical novels, 'At the Sign of the Sugared Plum' and 'Petals in the Ashes', dealt with the Black Plague in London and the Great Fire of 1666 respectively.
Her latest novel is ' The Remarkable Life and Times of Eliza Rose'.
