This seminar contained an overview of literacy and English initiatives in Edinburgh and highlighted innovative pilot projects delivered in schools across the city. One cluster focused on outcomes at first and second level, and teachers from this project shared their practice, planning and programmes of work.
This presentation outlined the City of Edinburgh Council strategy for supporting schools and establishments in developing literacy.
An interdisciplinary project (topic 'Alien Survival Guide') contributed to outcomes in literacy and language, numeracy and mathematics, the sciences, the expressive arts and health and wellbeing.
This presentation shared experiences from the Portobello Cluster schools' work on trialling draft experiences and outcomes at first and second levels.
