Interdisciplinary Learning in ICT, Multimedia and Written Language

This seminar explored how a local castle was used as a real and meaningful context for literacy learning. The core theme of literacy was linked with ICT, social studies and expressive arts. This session focused on the work of the P5-P7 pupils, who wrote a play based on the history of Dunstaffnage Castle and made an animated film based on their script. This project took account of the Literacy and English framework’s wider definition of literacy and provided opportunities for the development of listening, talking, reading and writing.
