Staff development

This page contains resources that support professional development and training.  These resources comprise a Facilitator’s Guide (MS Word) and a PowerPoint presentation, which may be downloaded for use within educational establishments and customised as required.

The Facilitator’s Guide provides a suggested format for planning and delivery of a 2-hour staff development session.  This sets out:

• the aims of the session
• the resources required
• a summary of the key points and issues
• questions to stimulate whole staff or group discussion
• a checklist to facilitate self-evaluation and action planning
• a menu of recommended movies to view
• further reading and research

Each Facilitator’s Guide has an associated PowerPoint document that enables the presenter to display the aims, key points, questions and movie titles throughout the session.  The Guide and the Presentation can be easily customised to reflect the particular focus of the training.
