There are a number of information and communication technologies that can provide assistance to people who require additional support with writing and speaking. This section gives some introductory information on a number of these technologies as well as links to more detailed information.

Voice-recognition software can help people who find typing or using a mouse difficult, or who have a dyslexia-related difficulty, such as with spelling.
Information on the computer programs which allow users to create a variety of visually appealing slides and audio-visual aids for public speaking and presentations.
Information about on-screen keyboards (virtual keyboards) which enable people with mobility impairments to type or input information by using a pointing device or joystick.
These keyboards can provide access to a computer for those with physical disability or visual impairement.
Information on electrical communication devices which assist people who have a communication impairment to express their needs, exchange information, ask questions and participate in conversations.
