
CREID is a specialist research centre exploring issues of inclusion and exclusion for children and adults in education and related social policy fields, including training, employment, health and social care.
The Centre for Research in Education Inclusion and Diversity (CREID), directed by Professor Sheila Riddell, was launched by the Moray House School of Education at the University of Edinburgh on the 4th November 2004.
Centre staff are currently working on a variety of projects which include the following:
CREID aims to make a significant contribution to the development of policy and practice in the broad fields of education, equality and social inclusion in Scotland, areas which are at the heart of the Scottish Parliament's agenda.

CREID works with organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors and with national and local government in Scotland and throughout the UK. Recent clients include the Scottish Executive Education Department (SEED), the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), The Disability Rights Commission (DRC), the Scottish Executive Equalities Unit and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), charitable trusts and foundations.
