Effective management of inter-agency collaboration

Hillside School in East Ayrshire provides an example of effective management of inter agency collaboration. The school provides education for pupils who have severe and profound learning difficulties.

Collaborating with outside agencies to enhance areas of the curriculum has contributed to greater achievement for pupils. The school has worked with agencies to plan pupils’ long and short-term targets and to identify and agree overall priorities for their learning and development. The range of approaches used by different agencies to achieve shared targets or goals was welcomed, and all partners built good working relationships and understanding of each others’ aims and contributions to meeting the pupils’ needs.
