A Class Magazine - Blackhall Primary School, City of Edinburgh

Following a brief introduction the delegates found themselves taking part in a ‘Ready-Steady-Cook’ style competition and were active from the beginning to the end of this excellent workshop.

We were shown how children worked together to think of different ways they could fund raise and produce a class magazine.  Various ‘departments’ were created and the children applied for jobs in the ‘department’ of their choice.   Each ‘department’ had responsibility for creating and selecting articles for inclusion in the finished magazine.  Every child prepared for and took part in the launch of the magazine where copies were snapped up by families and friends.

In summary this was a well thought out and executed project linking closely to the Curriculum for Excellence.

You can find out more about this project at Blackhall Primary School, Edinburgh from class teachers Karen Morris and Catherine Webster.
