Privacy

IDES recognises that your privacy is important to you. IDES, through Learning and Teaching Scotland, is registered with the Information Commissioner under the Data Protection Act 1998 and is committed to respecting online privacy. We will apply appropriate protection and management of any personally identifiable information you share with us. Any personal information you provide will be held and processed by Learning and Teaching Scotland on behalf of IDES in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will not pass on your details to any third party unless you give us permission to do so.

Network information on the IDES website is provided to facilitate communication and networking on IDES related topics between IDES members and must not be disclosed to any third party or used for commercial gain.

The username and password providing access to the private area of the IDES site must not be passed on to any third party.

Cookies

Some of the members only IDES web pages may use cookies. A 'cookie' is a temporary internet file placed on your computer's hard drive by your web browser. This enables us to collect information such as the time spent on our website and the pages used. Any such information held by Learning and Teaching Scotland on behalf of IDES and will not be disclosed to a third party.

If you wish to participate in electronic discussion forums, the cookies saved on your local hard drive will contain information such as your name and e-mail address. This information can be removed from your hard drive by clicking on the (Delete all cookies set by this site) link which can be found at the very bottom of http://forums.ltscotland.org.uk/profile/controlpanel.asp. Your name and e-mail address will not be disclosed to a third party.

Forums

A Discussion forum for IDES members may be provided in the near future. Any messages or information you post to such forums become the sole property of the site operator and may or may not be displayed, at the sole discretion of the site operator. The posting of copyrighted or illegal material is prohibited - you must comply with applicable local laws, including those of the server and site owner. You may not post information invasive of another's personal privacy rights, anything that may constitute harassment or libel, or information of a confidential or copyrighted nature.

Forums managed by Learning and Teaching Scotland, on behalf of IDES, are provided as a public service and your usage of these services may be terminated at any time by the site operator without prior notice. Information submitted to the system should not be considered confidential or private and may be revealed as part of normal system operations. No warranty of service is implied.
