The lesson: Videoconferencing in the Advanced Higher French class

The lesson

In this session all Advanced Higher French students in Renfrewshire attend Gryffe High School on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. However, on a Monday, four of the class from three different secondary schools are unable to attend. These students have been able, since September, to participate fully in the work of the course via videoconferencing.

Because of other timetable commitments, these students are unable to participate via a video link in the actual class on Mondays. However, thanks to the RAFLE initiative, Ms Wilson has been given extra time to work with these students. None of them are free at the same time, so on a Monday from noon she works for an hour via videoconference link with a student from one school and at lunchtime she establishes a multi-site link with the other two schools.
