Teachers in the school have been extending the use of ICT in their classrooms over the last two years with the introduction of an interactive whiteboard in each classroom. This has involved looking for good, easy to use software that does not cost vast amounts of money.
Teachers have found that this software is very versatile. It is updated and expanded on a regular basis and the authors are always open to suggestions for worksheet topics.
The software is mainly used to create lesson starters or ‘warm-up’ questions. This is a good way to settle the pupils for the maths lesson and makes constructive use of their time in the room while the ‘stragglers’ arrive or to free up the teacher to start another class.
The lesson starters allow pupils to practise their calculator skills such as working out the percentage of an amount or to recap on a previous topic. The pages normally consist of six to eight questions with boxes that can be clicked to reveal the answer. There is also the option to change the numbers as the questions are generated randomly each time.
