ICT in Education

Future projects

A photograph three school pupils

The Arts Development team has been given a grant to extend the work Castlefield began, now taking similar projects out to older children and young adults in South Lanarkshire. As with similar projects this has grown as others become involved! To carry on with the enterprise theme pupils are going to record another song, which will become their school’s anthem as they prepare to move to their new building. Artist Karine Polwart is going to visit the school and teach the children her song 'I’m going to do it all'. To personalise this song to become the school anthem pupils will add their own lyrics. With the assistance of Jamie Cameron from Riverside Studios and former pupil of Castlefield Primary, they will record the school song! Once all the songs have been recorded they hope to sell their CD. Pupils will have to advertise, promote, design covers, get CDs pressed, etc. An after-school club of senior pupils will be set up to deal with all these issues.

Other ICT activities

Once the CD is recorded and selling, the project does not stop there. There are plans for the children working in the enterprise group to create podcasts of the work they have been taking part in. More information on this will follow.
