The pupils enjoyed all aspects of the activity. They found the digital camera easy to use as it was the right shape and size for their small hands. The use of ICT gave added value to the activity and pupils became more familiar with the technology. The photos also provided evidence of the pupils' learning.
On reflection, the teacher thinks that if she repeats the activity she will give pupils more time to take the photographs and focus on areas such as framing the picture as a few of the photographs turned out to be of headless pupils.
What next?
As a follow up activity the teacher will ask the pupils to create a large painting of the swirling colours they made. She also has plans to make a PowerPoint presentation of the photographs to show to the whole class. Once she has shown them to the pupils she will get them to add captions about each one. The laptop can also be moved to the hall so that parents can see what their children have been doing in the nursery.
