ICT in Education - Interactive whiteboards

Having an interactive whiteboard in the classroom has many advantages. These links will take you to resources that can be used with the whiteboard, case studies on using the whiteboard in the classroom and information and advice on using a whiteboard in the classroom.

WMNet Interactive Whiteboard resources	This sites hosts both Primary and Secondary whiteboard resources for numeracy, literacy, science and ICT.
Promethean Planet website	This is a direct link to the Promethean Planet website resource portal. Includes interactive flipchart lessons, user forums, software tutorials, training and support and user guides and manuals.
SMART classroom resources	The Classroom Resources area of the SMART Education website contains lots of downloadable resource materials, including 'Hands On Support' resources that are freely available to all SMART Education registered users. Registration is free.
Free educational software for whiteboards	This site offers Smartboard users free software for music, maths and spelling.
Topmarks resources for Interactive whiteboards	Direct link to Primary resources for interactive whiteboards focussing on maths, language and science. However, it also has some activities for environmental studies, music, RE and art.
National Whiteboard network	The National Whiteboard Network is part of the National Primary Strategy and aims to improve the quality of learning and teaching and raise standards through the use of ICT. It has resources for all primary levels as well as advice and guidance on using whiteboards and a forum area for submitting and sharing resources.
Oxford LEA website whiteboard resources	This page gives you access to a range of resources that have been developed to use on the interactive whiteboard. Many of these files have been adapted from paper-based materials.
BGFL whiteboard resources	The BGfL has been developing a number of its resources and activities for use with whiteboards. Each of the links contains a normal version of the activity together with a dedicated whiteboard version. The whiteboard version can be scaled to fit full-screen making it perfect for whole class teaching.
EChalk	Free resources for teachers for use with interactive whiteboards and data projectors. It has resources for primary and secondary maths and science as well as some games. You can preview some materials but this is a subscription based website.
