Podcasting

So what can you do with a podcast?

Language lessons -  Woodhill Primary School is piloting the use of podcasting to teach French. The teacher records a series of listening exercises and the pupils use iTunes to download and listen to the podcasts as well as completing a worksheet. Listen to the Woodhill Primary podcast.

How-to instructions -  Students learning ICT skills can download instructions onto an iPod and listen to them whilst working at the computer. This saves having a lot of applications open and allows the students to focus on the task.

Self-guided tours -  See the Podguides website for examples.

Storytelling -  Download and listen to all your favourite stories at storynory.

Accessibility -  For pupils whose reading skills are limited, podcasts are an ideal way of providing the material in a different format.
