Updating Healthy Kids

These notes are freely available as a Portable Document Files (PDF). You can view on screen and print the entire contents. Get Adobe Acrobat Reader

If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you must install it on your computer. Click on the 'Get Acrobat Reader' icon and follow the instructions. Once installed click on the 'PDF' icon to open the report. You can then save to your own computer and print a copy.

PROGRAM UPDATE

Please note that you will require a minimum of 250MB on your hard disk to complete the update.

Mac

The Mac updater requires an extra 120Mb of free hard disc space (i.e. 380MB in total) to run the installer, as it copies all the old files to the bin.
  • Copy original files to Hard Disc. This will take a few minutes.
  • Download the updater (healthykidsupdate.sit, 4.06MB)
  • If the file has not auto extracted, double click the "healthyKidsUpdate.sit" file to extract the installer.
  • Open the "Healthy Kids Update" file that is extracted.
  • In the dialogue box, click to select "Select Folder. " Open and select Healthy Kids on the Hard Disc.
  • Click to select Install and wait while the update proceeds. This will take a few minutes.
  • Run the Healthy kids application from the hard disc as usual.
You will require the Stuffit Expander™ application to unpack the files. If not already installed you may download and install it for free from http://www.aladdinsys.com/

 

Windows

  • Copy all the original files to Hard Disc
  • Download the updater (hkupdate.zip, 5.94MB) and extract the file hkupdate.exe.
  • Make sure the files are not read only.
  • Run "HKUpdater.exe"
  • Click the browse button to select where the original files are.
  • Click update to start
  • Wait while update proceeds.
  • If you are running the program across a network set the files back to read-only. Remember if you use the application on a network you need the appropriate licence
  • Run the Healthy kids application from the hard disc as usual.
