Partnership working

Pupils are exposed to a wide range of health messages beyond their time at school. These can include messages from parents; family; friends and community organisations. By working in partnership with these groups the benefits to schools can include: 

  • increased opportunity for pupils to receive similar health education messages by partners
  • access to greater resources and support from specialist services
  • help with delivery of health education and staff training    

These will all make a significant contribution to the development of the health promoting school programme.

A range of national documents recommend schools engage in partnership working because of the recognised benefits to pupil health. These include:
