So what exactly is a health promoting school? Why and how should schools aim to become one?

Being Well – Doing Well is the national framework for health promoting schools in Scotland. It was developed by the Scottish Health Promoting Schools Unit (SHPSU) in conjunction with the following partners:

  • Scottish Executive Education and Health Departments
  • Learning and Teaching Scotland
  • NHS Health Scotland
  • COSLA
  • HM Inspectorate of Education
  • National Health Promoting Schools Network.
