Audio Network is a commercial music company which owns the rights to a huge archive of music and sound effects. 

LTS has paid for a five-year licence so that Scottish schools can use as much music as they like in the production of classroom or teaching resources, drama or film productions.

The catalogue has been comprehensively categorised by:

• 'Ambient/Textural'
• 'Atmosphere' - music classified by mood
• 'Style/Genre' - from music for children, through pop styles to wildlife
• 'Instrumentation' - from orchestral to solo instruments
• 'Composer' - including both track listings and details of composer.

Terms of use

Under the licence, schools may download free of charge any of the resources available from Audio Network. The method of authentication is by IP Address so the free resources can only be downloaded from within school.
