Each of the following organisations has provided an initial outline of their idea for arts projects for Glow. Watch this space for updates as the Co-Create projects develop throughout the year.
Citizens Theatre will create a live production targeted at P3/4 pupils exploring how violence begins. Project strands include teacher resources, live web chats, film clips of the production, online activities and audio interviews.
SHINE: Drake Music Scotland will run a creative 'Switch on to Music' project in an SEN school, shedding light on the artistic process, unpacking resources and sharing experiences and performances via Glow.
The Fèis Rois project will bring together pupils from Aberdeenshire (mainstream) and Highland (disengaged learners). Pupils will participate in the traditional arts (storytelling, music, song and dance), and new media and technology.
Horsecross Arts will work with transition stages in nursery, primary and secondary to generate an interactive artbank on Glow. The project will demonstrate how practitioners can use Curriculum for Excellence subject 'hooks' to create sound and image 'bites'.
Imaginate will work with teachers, pupils and a new media design company to create an interactive online learning tool for Glow to support children in evaluating and appreciating art.
SAGE (sow and grow everywhere™) is an innovative public art programme that NVA is currently producing. NVA will pilot SAGE Schools using the Glow network to dynamically, politically and ethically engage young people in a reflective learning process connected to the themes of SAGE.
Supporting the delivery of Higher Dance in the three authorities involved in Aim Higher, Scottish Youth Dance will provide dance lessons and teacher training through Glow, backed by online dance resources available to all.
Street Level Photoworks will create a virtual photo album for pupils and teachers. The photographs will be digital doorways to participatory activities and opportunities to share learning.
The Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum & Arts Centre project involves the creation of an art trail, educational resources and interpretation for Langass Woodland in North Uist. Led by S2 pupils the project will create resources for local primary schools using Glow and hand held devices with GPS technology.
