Glow in Dumfries and Galloway
Dumfries and Galloway Council is fully embracing preparation for the rollout of Glow across the authority. Staff from the authority received their Operational training in February 2008, with Mentor training delivered at the end of April 2008. Plans are in place to pilot Glow with six primary schools before the summer break.
The selected schools have been informed that they are going to be part of the pilot and we have invited the class teachers to come along to Mentor training. We are going to be working with upper primary classes initially and basing our pilot around a project which involves the creation of a fictitious island. The children will be involved in a series of six lessons which will allow for the functionality of Glow to be used. We will ensure that the six primaries will use the Glow tools to communicate and collaborate with each other throughout the various stages of the pilot.
