This seminar explores theory and research in second language acquisition, particularly the relationship between children's identity and self-esteem and positive outcomes for learning.

The tutor, Dr Priscilla Clarke, is an early childhood consultant specialising in the second language acquisition of young bilingual children.

The seminar will:

  • look at creating positive learning environments
  • examine the factors affecting the learning outcomes of learners
  • consider the role of the first/home language
  • look at how to achieve outcomes in stages of EAL development.
