Excellence Through Enterprise International Conference 2009
Enterprise in education has been at the forefront of Scottish education for the past six years through the Determined to Succeed (DTS) strategy.
This international conference, arranged by DTS, will bring together leading practitioners, policy makers and people from across the globe who are passionate about delivering enterprising education for all children and young people.
Conference aims
- To showcase Scotland’s comprehensive approach and commitment to enterprise in education through national and local exemplification.
- To network and exchange practices with international partners from EU and beyond.
- To demonstrate how Scotland is better preparing young people for the world of work and their place in a globalised society.
Itinerary
The conference will take place over a four-day period in November:
Sunday 15 November
Welcome reception at Edinburgh castle.
Monday 16 November
Keynote speeches, workshops and showcases, including keynote speech from the Scottish Government's Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, Fiona Hyslop MSP.
In the evening there will be an opportunity to explore the capital city's history in a fun and interesting way.
Tuesday 17 November
Opportunity for delegates to visit local schools and colleges to see Scotland's comprehensive approach to enterprise in education first hand.
In the evening there will be a formal dinner and Ceilidh with traditional Scottish country dancing.
Wednesday 18 November
Further workshops, showcases and keynote speeches and a range of planning opportunities.
