A secondary school and a local food manufacturing company have created a partnership project aimed at first year students. Employer personnel, school staff and students discuss the project, the way that it developed, opportunities for cross-curricular learning and the how it has raised self-esteem for many students. The film shows how the project has strong links to Curriculum for Excellence.
A community radio station and two local schools form a partnership strategy allowing pupils to gain a wide variety of skills, including broadcasting and digital music skills. Radio station staff work with pupils to develop playlists and programme schedules, which are broadcast live on air. Staff, teachers and pupils outline the benefits of partnership working and the positive effect it has on the pupils' education and self-confidence.
A hospitality training centre and a local high school work in partnership to provie pupils with experiences across a number of areas in hospitality industry as well as gaining transferable skills for work. Isobel Mair School and East Renfrewshire Council went into partnership to enable pupils to develop the skills needed to run an enterprise selling cakes to council employees.
Craighead Primary School pupils work together and with local businesses and other organisations to improve their environment, including planting a garden, creating a wormery and installing a wind turbine.
