As part of its education project highlighting the importance of remembrance, Poppyscotland together with the Scottish Poetry Library have launched a poetry competition for schools.

HMIE have published a report which highlights features of emerging practice in work-related learning and identifies issues to assist local authorities, schools and their partners as they plan for full implementation of Curriculum for Excellence.

The Herald reports that a new report from Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) says the potential for using the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme in schools is 'very significant indeed' and urges councils to ensure that all young people in Scotland have the chance to take part.
