Learning for Sustainability This report from the WWF is the result of a three-year study of 15 schools, looking at the impact that a whole school approach to sustainability can have on pupil attainment and motivation.
Are We switching On? A report from Scottish Education and Action for Development (SEAD) which identifies and profiles projects which empower people to take action to tackle climate change in their own lives and communities, rather than those which simply give information without an action-based focus.
SSA - 2008 Survey of Mathematics and Core Skills The 2008 Scottish Survey of Achievement was on Mathematics and Core Skills. Between April and June of tha year just under 40,000 pupils in P3, P5, P7 and S2 from around 1,200 Scottish schools took part in the survey. It reflected learning and teaching under the 5-14 Curriculum.
Interim Report Draft Experiences and Outcomes Summary and access to a downloadable copy (in PDF format) of the interim findings of a study by the University of Glasgow to collect, analyse and report data on the Curriculum for Excellence draft experiences and outcomes. Published in August 2008.
Work Related Learning for an Innovation Nation A report which summaries the findings of four pieces of research commissioned by NESTA to explore how employers in three sectors, the creative industries, the third sector and the rural economy, engage with young people aged between 14 and 19, as well as how young people perceive work related learning. The research studies used a range of methods to explore current practices and perceptions of work related learning.
White boys from low-income backgrounds: good practice in schools This report presents the findings from a small scale survey of good practice into the good practice of in the education of white boys from low-income backgrounds. The survey was carried out during the autumn term in 2007 and involved 20 schools across England where results indicated that white British boys from low-income backgrounds had performed better than their peers in other schools.
Web 2.0 Technologies for Learning at Key Stages 3 and 4 – Summary Report A research report which presents the findings of a study aiming to investigate the use and impact of web 2.0 technologies for learning at key stages 3 and 4 in England. The research involved a survey of 2,600 pupils at 27 schools, including schools who were experimenting with web 2.0 technologies and those which were not, supplemented by focus groups with students.
